Marriage Celebrant Services – Terms & Conditions (Legals-Only Ceremonies)
1. Scope of Services
-
These Terms & Conditions apply specifically to legals-only marriage ceremonies.
-
A legals-only ceremony includes the minimum legal requirements to solemnise a marriage under Australian law.

2. Booking & Payment
-
A booking is confirmed only upon receipt of payment.
-
For ceremonies scheduled more than 8 weeks in advance, a non-refundable deposit of $250 is required to secure your date and time.
-
For ceremonies scheduled within 8 weeks, full payment is required upfront to secure the booking.
-
No date or time will be held without payment.

3. Non-Refundable Deposit
-
The $250 deposit is non-refundable under all circumstances, as it secures your ceremony date and time and may result in other bookings being declined.

4. Cancellations
-
Cancellations made within 8 weeks of the ceremony date are non-refundable.
-
This is because your ceremony time has been exclusively reserved and is unlikely to be rebooked at short notice.
-
For cancellations made more than 8 weeks prior, the deposit remains non-refundable, but any additional payments may be refunded at the celebrant’s discretion.

5. Rescheduling
-
Requests to reschedule are subject to availability.
-
Rescheduling within 4 weeks (1 month) of the ceremony date will incur:
-
$150 rescheduling fee for weekend ceremonies
-
No fee for weekday ceremonies
-
-
Rescheduling requests made outside of 4 weeks may be accommodated without a fee, at the celebrant’s discretion.
-
If a suitable new date cannot be agreed upon, the cancellation policy applies.

6. Ceremony Location Changes
-
Any changes to the agreed ceremony location within 8 weeks of the ceremony date must be within a 15-minute drive of the original location.
-
Changes outside of this range may not be possible or may incur an additional fee, subject to availability and travel constraints.

7. Client Responsibilities
-
Clients must ensure all legal documentation (including Notice of Intended Marriage and supporting identification) is completed accurately and provided within required timeframes.
-
Delays in providing documentation may impact the celebrant’s ability to legally perform the ceremony.

8. Force Majeure
-
In the unlikely event that the celebrant is unable to perform the ceremony due to illness, emergency, or circumstances beyond control, all reasonable efforts will be made to arrange a replacement celebrant.
-
If a replacement cannot be secured, a full refund of monies paid (excluding the value of services already delivered) will be provided.

9. Acceptance of Terms
-
By proceeding with a booking and/or making payment, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.

10. Governing Law
-
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
